About Me

Christine Mount-Kapp was born in Minneapolis MN, and grew up in Apple Valley, MN. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 1990 with a degree in graphic design. Eventually she left Minneapolis and settled in the scenic St. Croix River Valley where she is raising her handsome twin boys.

While attending University of Wisconsin-Stout, she was one of four students selected to study for one year at a newly founded exchange program at The Fachhochshule Hildeshiem/Holzminden School in Northern Germany.

Although working for several years as a waitress in Stillwater, MN, Christine never strayed from the arts, continuing to pursue the vision she had all her life of being a serious painter capturing vintage and Americana life with oil paints on canvas.

Christine currently teaches an afterschool program for young artists, tutors home schooled children and organized a series of successful summer art programs with over 200 participants from the St. Croix River Valley.

Christine gives private art instruction, works full time from her studio and travels around the country doing juried art shows when her role as chauffeur and hockey mom allows.

    • Hi Lisa!
Thank you for following me here. It’s always great to have artists friends. I signed up for your blog as well. My show in Texas went very well, it was my first trip out there. I am going to try to do more shows down there. Thank you for your comments on the beer can painting. I had a love – hate relationship with it, it was something I worked on for about a year while i was going through tough stuff.
